" The Genealogy of Moses "    The genealogy of Moses from the Biblical standpoint. Josephus states that Moses was the seventh generation from Abraham. I believe that God intentionally made these dates hard to determine so that no one could determine an accurate length of the fourteen generations of Matthew 1:17 or the extra generation of Luke 3:36.
   The information is vague in the Age of Taurus a period of confusion. It is a puzzle!
   Joseph, son of Jacob, died at 110 years of age in Gen. 50:26 and Exodus 1:6 although Josephus in the Antiquities assumed to have made a mistake in that Jacob and Esau was born after Sarah died (at 127) rather than his commentary which stated that it was more likely to have occurred after Abraham died (at 175). But lets rethink this to which Abraham was Josephus referring to. See Genesis 35:22-26 for the list of the twelve sons of Jacob.
   First Kings 6:1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif (April-May), which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
   If Solomon became the third king in the year 962 B.C., when David died. If during his fourth year this would equate to the year 958 B.C. By adding the 480 years to 958 B.C. we arrive at 1438 B.C. as the year that the Exodus from Egypt occurred. From here one can add 80 years of Moses age when he approached Pharaoh to derive his birth at 1518 B.C. plus a 15 year error for the ten plagues at 1533 B.C. At this point we must assume the ages at birth of Amram, Kohath, Levi who was born about the same time as Joseph. Whether it is 400 years of Abraham's posterity or estimated at 81 years per each times 4 generations = 324 years to Jacob’s 12 sons being born (at 1863-1857 B.C.), then one must deduct Joseph 110 years of age to find the point where his bones were being carried around in about 1747 B.C. which places him in the Hysko invasion of Egypt.
